Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York he lives with his wife in Nanaimo and enjoys playing the recorder and canoeing on the ocean.
Richard is the Principal Investigator of the Canada Foundation for Innovation funded MeTA Digital Humanities Lab at VIU. He is the author or editor of sixteen academic books.

Joe is a film and broadcast industry professional. His work has taken him to Norway, Central America, the Caribbean, and Madagascar winning many film industry awards.
